Most Expensive Things Ever Stolen

Stolen from the Judy Garland Museum in Grand Rapids, Minnesota in 2005, the glitzy ruby-red shoes worn by Judy Garland in 1939 movie, The Wizard of Oz are said to be worth anything from $2 to $3 million, though they are currently insured for $1 million. Highly collectable, they are without a doubt one of the most expensive things ever stolen. Only this week an anonymous donor from Arizona has offered a reward of $1 million for anyone who can state accurately who stole the “slippers” and exactly where they are now. Perhaps the most incredible part is that there are known to be at least another four pairs of these slippers, though they are not all the same.
