The highest paid golfer in the world in 2014, Tiger Woods, like his opponent Phil Mickelson also owes most of his money to endorsements – a whopping $53 million of the total $72.3 million he took home. One of the most successful golfers ever, and one of the best paid athletes for quite a few years, Tiger Woods turned to professional golf when he was just 20 (in 1996). He won the Masters in 1997, and that same year was ranked number one in the world. After a low period in both his personal life and golfing career, he grabbed the number one ranking again in 2013. In spite of a health issue that demanded surgery in 2014, he is still one of the top ten earners.
