Not quite as “rich” as the UEFA Champions League, the UEFA Europa League still pays out substantial prize money to clubs. Winners currently get €5 million (about US$5,4 million) and runner’s up, half this amount. Previously called the UEFA Cup, this soccer tournament is regarded as the second-most prestigious club tournament in the world. Like the Champions League, there are payouts based on both participation and results. Current champions following the league final in 2014 are Sevilla that beat Benfica.
