Another movie made in 2013, Man of Steel is said to have cost about the same as The Lone Ranger to produce – around $225 million. Allabout comic book superheroes, it was a huge box office success, grossing more than $668 million worldwide to date. Incredibly, it made $12 million from a single weeknight of Wal-Mart screening, and $9 million from a series of midnight screenings. Reviews though weren’t wonderful, and some maintained it was quite simply “underwhelming”. Man of Steel has though been nominated for at least 24 awards, some for the movie itself and some nominations for actors, the score and more; it has so far won three minor awards.
